Nigeria’s New Defense Minister Resigns


The top echelon of the Nigerian military yesterday refused to have a joint meeting with the new Minister of Defense Aliyu Gusau and his Deputy Musiliu Obanikoro.

This clear act of insubordination angered Aliyu Gusau, the respected ex-Army chief and thus triggered his resignation from the cabinet.
