Lagos State Government Closes Lateef Jakande Road for 12days
The Lagos State Government says Lateef Jakande Road by WEMPCO Road junction is to be closed to traffic from the night of Friday, March 28 to Wednesday, April 9, 2014. The government explained that the closure was to enable the contractor constructing the underground drainage project in the area to cross the road from WEMPCO Road into Omole Gorge where the drainage would discharge. A statement by the External Relations Specialist, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, Kolawole Ojelabi, further explained that the drainage, when completed, would collect flood water and other waste water coming from Agege, Ogba and environs and prevent flooding usually experienced in the areas.
