The President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Remi Bello, says the business world in the 21st century is increasingly being driven by cutting-edge information technology. As a result, he urged the Federal Government to put in place necessary infrastructure for cyber regulation. Bello spoke in Lagos at a seminar organised by the financial services group of the chamber. A medical evacuation plane disappeared west of Senegal during a flight from Burkina Faso to Dakar, Senegalese civil aviation authority said in a statement on Sunday. The aircraft carrying seven people, including a French patient went down off the coast of Senegal at 7:08 p.m. (1908 GMT) on Saturday, said the statement. Senegal’s air force was conducting a search of the wreckage of the plane. According to officials, the plan was carrying a Senegalese doctor, two nurses,three crew members, two Algerians and one Congolese, apart from the patient. The plane, which had been scheduled to arrive in Dakar at 18:20, belonged to the private Senegalair company. WITH the sole aim of raising employability level of Nigerian youths and reducing poverty in the country, the Federal Republic of Germany, in partnership with some Nigerian organisations, has trained and graduated eight Nigerian youths in Technical Facility Management under its German Dual Vocational Training Partnership with the country. The project is about three month rigorous class training with all tools, local and foreign experts and nine month field experience in different nominated companies. The first aspect of the training project, which was kicked off in 2012, was in Industrial Mechanics and Industrial Electronics training for 23 apprentices, while the second aspect was in Office Administration in which 11 apprentices graduated. The success story of the firm – Comprehensive Design Services (CDS – USA) through pilot projects on affordable green building in PortHarcourt, River State earned her the honour and recognition. ANGST by what they termed irrational operations of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC), electricity consumers under the umbrella of the Joint Action Committee, Electricity Distribution Company Customers Consultative Forum have kicked against plans by the company to review its tariff. While describing this as unjustifiable and untimely, they urged the electricity company to regulate its services immediately to avoid confrontation with the consumers. At a stakeholders meeting tagged: “Public Consultation On Tariff Review” held at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos yesterday, the consumers through a protest vote unanimously said no to the planned tariff review, noting that the electricity company has not done enough to warrant this. Scores of people were feared dead and others injured when a six storey plaza in the heart of the popular Balogun Market in Lagos was gutted by fire on Thursday. The  News Agency of Nigerian  reports that the plaza is surrounded by several important business premises, which included the Union Bank, Diamond Bank and the United Bank for Africa. NAN  also observed that the plaza, which was being used as a wholesale and retail outlet for shoes and bags, is directly beside and attached to Union Bank building. Investigations revealed that the fire started at about 9am and was battled by a team of combined firefighters from the Union Bank and UBA before the arrival of the Lagos State Fire Service. Some eyewitnesses, who spoke to  NAN , said some people, who jumped out from various floors of the burning plaza to escape the fire, were carried away dead.
